What do New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Texas, North Carolina and Georgia all have in common? One thing -- roller coaster enthusiasts who plan to visit Kings Island in 2009 just to ride the new Diamondback roller coaster.
Since Diamondback was unveiled August 6, 2008, Kings Island has received literally thousands of phone calls and e-mails from enthusiasts from across the country with questions about the $22 million steel coaster.
"There has been an incredible amount of excitement and interest surrounding Diamondback that started with the announcement last summer," said Heidi Oldfield, department supervisor of the sales and service center at Kings Island.
"The calls range from people wanting an update on the construction to when might be the best day for them to visit the park this summer. It's going to be an exhilarating coaster and people can't wait to ride it!"
