The track work on Diamondback is approximately two weeks from being completed. On Wednesday, workmen are expected to begin working on the break run that follows the first helix. That is the last piece of track work that needs to be done in the back area of the ride. Once that section is complete, the focus will shift to the Beast plaza area and the second helix, followed by the last piece of track (piece #129) after the splashdown to finish off the ride.
Work continues on the station, and next week landscaping around the splashdown area will begin.
I will be heading to Chicago this weekend for the annual American Coaster Enthusiasts No Coaster Convention. No Coaster Con is an exceptional opportunity for amusement park and industry representatives to meet members and guests of the world's largest roller coaster enthusiast organization, as well as a chance to interact with industry colleagues. Over the past 29 years, No Coast Con has steadily grown to include attendees from across the United States and Canada, and an impressive list of guest speakers. I'd like to thank Bob Prentki, No Coaster Con coordinator for ACE, for the opportunity to be included in the list of presenters.
