The response to the charity auction to be among the first to challenge Diamondback continues to be overwhelming.
As of this afternoon, more than $60,000 has been raised for seats on the first five trains (160 seats) since the auction began February 2. The Anthem Foundation and A Kid Again Friends currently share the top bid at $3,000 each for a seat on Diamondback’s inaugural ride.
One-hundred percent of the money raised from the auction will go directly to A Kid Again, a nonprofit organization which provides fun-filled outings and on-going support to children with life threatening illnesses and their families from the day of diagnosis until the children reach the age of 20.
Bids can be placed until April 15 at 8:30am online at www.kidiamondback.com or by calling (800) 288-0808. The highest successful bidder will select their seat on the first train while all other successful bidders will be assigned their seats according to their bid amount.
Because A Kid Again is a 501 (C) (3) not-for-profit, the donation from top bidders is tax-deductable to the fullest extent of the IRS tax code.
