Hammerhead turn one of Diamondback's thrill elementsDecember 24, 2008Workmen have begun installing track in one of the thrill elements of Diamondback -- the hammerhead turn. A hammerhead turn is similiar to an overbanked turn except the formation of the turn is designed to look similiar to a hammerhead shark's head. The train on Diamondback will enter this element after the third drop with a steep slope up, a slight curve, and then a turnaround, followed by another turn on the downward part of the element. This part of the ride is going to be wicked awesome! Members of the media were given a construction tour of Diamondback on Tuesday. Below is a link to one of the stories: http://www.wlwt.com/news/18345701/detail.html This is the last update until January 5. On behalf of Kings Island, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.
