First Ride On Diamondback Up For Auction

Kings Island, in cooperation with A Kid Again, formerly known as Adventures for Wish Kids, is holding an auction for the first rides on the new Diamondback roller coaster that will appeal to philanthropists and coaster-enthusiasts alike. The Park will auction off seats on the first five trains to the highest bidders, who will be the first official riders on Diamondback – the tallest, fastest and meanest roller coaster to ever strike Kings Island. Bids can be placed until April 15 by clicking on the bid link at the bottom of this page or by calling Kings Island at (800) 288-0808. Minimum bids must be higher than the lowest bid above the yellow line on the bid board. NOTE: Please submit bids that are not even dollar amounts in .25, .50 and .75 increments. Thank you!

illnesses and their families by providing year round, fun-filled group activities and destination events, fostering joy, laughter, normalcy and supportive networking opportunities. All of the organization’s adventures are geared toward the whole family, including the siblings, so no one is excluded. Please give these brave kids the opportunity to feel like A Kid Again. Thank you for your support.

A Great Day

In addition to providing these brave kids the opportunity to feel like A Kid Again, as a successful bidder, you’ll be among the first in the world to ride Diamondback on Opening Day April 18. The $22 million steel coaster is Kings Island’s 15th roller coaster and stands 230 feet at its highest point with a first drop of 215 feet at a 74-degree angle and will snake its way around 5,282 feet of track in excess of 80 miles per hour! A day at Kings Island that’s fun, thrilling and rewarding – what could be better than that?

What You Get

The highest successful bidder will select their seat on the first train of Diamondback while all other successful bidders will be assigned their seats according to their bid amount. Minimum bids begin at $50.00. Along with being one of the first to experience the best new roller coaster in the world for 2009, successful bidders will receive a commemorative first rider ticket, a special gift from the park and an admission ticket to enjoy the day at Kings Island. Because A Kid Again is a 501 (C) (3) not-for-profit, the donation from top bidders is tax-deductable to the fullest extent of the IRS tax code.

How It Works

The highest successful bidder will select their seat on the first train while all other successful bidders will be assigned their seats according to their bid amount through the last seat on the fifth train.
